Nestled on the West coast of Canada is British Columbia, home to Vancouver which is dubbed one of the top running cities in North America with multiple iconic running routes to choose from. From picturesque mountain views to breathtaking beachfront paths, Vancouver has it all for a day  of exploring by foot.

This spring why not add some excitement to your running route and throw in some zig-zags here and there and bounce around the city. From the beach shore to the mountains, you’re sure to have incredible scenery wherever you choose to run.

Who doesn’t love running next to the ocean with the calming sounds of the waves and refreshing sea breeze? We couldn’t think of anyone either! Stanley park is offers over 1000 acres to explore and run in whether you choose to stick to the paved path following the shoreline or venture through the woods on the wooded trail network. With its central location so close to downtown, you can easily lace up your shoes and head out from your hotel without stepping foot in your car.

The sight of blooming cherry blossoms is one of the most beautiful parts of spring and Vancouver is full of them. Run through an arch of blooming, cherry blossoms and take in the fresh air on this running route around the UBS area. The campus is like a mini city of its own and is full of great running routes whether you choose to stay on the paved paths, hit the Acadia Beach area or run through the wooded trails in Pacific Spirit Regional Park.

Lion’s Gate Bridge

Although the bridge was initially designed for cars to connect the North shore of Vancouver to the downtown core, the Lion’s Gate Bridge is a buzzing spot for runners and cyclists. With breathtaking mountain views and scenic citys-capes, the Lion’s Gate bridge offers refreshing scenery for your running routine. There are separate pedestrian paths at either side of the bridge so you can finish your run through Stanley Park with a sprint across the bridge.

For those looking for alternatives to running on paved streets and a chance to test out some new trail running shoes, North Vancouver is full trail running opportunities. From the demonstration Forest to the Baden Powell Trail and everything in between, North Vancouver has an endless wilderness playground to explore.
